FROM THE RICHEST COMPANY TO ZERO

I found this context intriguing, especially as the world advances rapidly in technology. Newly acquired skills are generating discussions, such as the AI humanoid robot developed by Elon Musk and the proposed air taxi service in the UAE. Backward nations need to take swift action to innovate. In Nigeria, insecurity could have been drastically reduced if new approaches had been tactically employed over the years. This also applies to vulnerable nations in Asia and Africa. While the world is progressing quickly, human resources are increasingly being replaced by AI innovations. The accompanying photo illustrates the need for improvement in academics, national economic reform, agriculture, and industrialization. Both the cameraman and the pilot lost their jobs due to these shifts. Remember Kodak? In 1997, Kodak had around 160,000 employees and accounted for about 85% of the world's photography. Yet, with the rise of mobile cameras, Kodak could not adapt and eventually went bankrupt, r...

STRIPPING OFF OUR PRECIOUS GARMENT

Image
Gone were the days when Nigerians could hardly afford three square meals; we complained, managed it and hoped that one day we would have a better life. Today, Nigerians were struggling to eat two square meals... all in the name of our insincere leaders who have ruled us since Nigeria became a republic.  Twenty-four presidents had ruled right from the President. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa from 1960 till the present administration of President Asiwaju Bola Hamed Tinubu, who was once a senator in the 2nd republic and a former Lagos state governor. I don't think that someone could be so opportune to enjoy the precious garment of a nation than this... Likewise, all other leaders that had ruled/served our dear nation for over six decades.  I can relate this action to a father who is living a life he desires but keeps urging, encouraging, and preaching hope to his/her children for a better tomorrow while not providing a plan for their future! The children keep struggling and wallowing in...

SITTING ON A GOLD MINE. (WHY OUR SUFFERING?)

In the year 1960, a country was birth called Nigeria. They got their freedom in the hands of the British colony and became a republic in 1963. We were amalgamated, which makes us unique and diverse, blessed with solid mineral resources attached with other precious benefits such as land mass covering 356,668 sq miles (923,7770 sq kilometres). It is about the same size as California, Nevada and Utah combined.  Nigeria is diverse in people and culture. The history of the country goes back to 500 BC when the Nok people were the inhabitants. An estimated population of 233.8 million is the sixth most populated in the world. Good atmospheric conditions, blessed with highly intelligent people, and culture. Our inheritance was so great and impressive.  God has destined us to live in wealth that hardly would other Nations compete with us, but our unaccountable leaders and corruptible impediment act led us to a detrimental financial mess, developmental backwardness, economic retrog...

NIGERIA AT THE VERGE OF DOOM

Nigeria is going through an undesirable fate and a terrible time that is leading to hunger,  economic retrogression, and despair because of sudden harsh policies incepted by the government.  • Subsidy removal • Naira float • Increase in import duty on imported commodities • Tax increment   All these factors are leading to the unbearable fate of the masses. Pensioners who retired are yet to be paid from March 2023 till date. This is outrageous and unpalatable for those who have served the nation for 35 years to be treated this way. Now.  Getting their accrued right is not promising. Rather than failing to promise them every time. How would they be surviving despite the hike in staples foods, drugs, transportation etc   The price of all commodities rose to the tune of 100 per cent, which is too high for average Nigerians to cope with. The masses have always been urged to make sacrifices whenever a policy dwindles the economy, while our political leaders...
